A Quick Post {WT217 CARD}

Hello friends, bloggers and fellow stampers! Hope you're all doing very well. I just want to share with you the card that I made for the WT217 challenge over SCS. That is to use Kraft on your card.

Here's my take on that:

I used my Friends stamp set (by Clearly Wordsworth) which I received yesterday. Yay! Bought this one from Oztion (same as Ebay). I stamped it onto Kraft cs with Choc Chip ink, cut it and adhered it onto my Labels 1 which was sponged around with Choc Chip ink for some effect. Sentiment was stamped directly to the card base. The Hot Red cs is from Bazzill which was embossed using Floral Screen embossing folder by Cuttlebug. Finished it off with Kaiser pearls in Chocolate on the four ticket-punched corners.

Short and simple...and I hope you like it.

Thanks for the visit and have a lovely day! God bless!

Magnolia Down Under Challenge #10 and SC227 {Tilda Thanks}

Happy Thursday! I wasn't feeling a bit well this morning as I was feeling short of breath. This isn't actually new to me as this is one of the symptoms of the MVP that I have (Mitral Valve Prolapse) but everytime it happens, it just freaks me out! Thank God it didn't last long as I was all alone as the kids are in school and hubby's working.

I have just finished my card for the Magnolia Down Under Challenge #10. We have to make a Mother's Day card but since I don't have any mother-themed stamps, I opted to use THANKS to show gratitude to my mother. Well, my Mama passed away 9 years ago and everytime Mother's Day comes, I can't help but miss her and I still cry. She's my best friend and I'm so thankful that God gave me such a wonderful mother.

This card was patterned after SC227 over SCS. My image was a RAK from my online friend Deb (from US). I coloured Tilda with Prisma pencils and odourless solvent, cut her out and matted her onto a Basic Grey Urban Prairie dp. I did some sponging on top of her (for a sky effect) and some Old Olive at the bottom for some grass effect. I really like this Urban Prarie from Basic Grey..I actually just purchased it recently from an online store.
I stamped my sentiment onto a white cs (where I cut my Tilda from), sponged some Old Olive around it and matted it onto my Quill pink cs which I bought from Officeworks months ago. I finished my card up by putting 4 rhinestones at the corner of the sentiment.
Thank you for the visit and for your lovely comments.
God bless everyone and look after yourself especially with the "swine flu" going around.
Hugs,

ODBDSC03 Ecclesiastes 3:1

What a very lovely verse! True indeed that there is a season or time for everything!

This card is my first very first challenge card over Our Daily Bread Designs' May sketch challenge. The verse that I used is also from their Scripture Collection 1. I stamped the verse onto Whisper White with my newly-purchased Versacolor Violet ink and heat-embossed it in clear embossing powder. I sponged around the verse with another Versacolor ink - Hyacinth.

The sketch is very lovely and I guess I will be using this more often in the future. Here's a closer shot of the verse:

Hmmm this is my 2nd post for the day and to think it's just 6pm! Bet I'll be making another card before I call it a day. :)
Thanks for looking and it's time to cook dinner now. See you later!

Reverse Masking with Ginger {InStyle Stamps}

Hello everyone! I haven't posted for awhile as I've been busy around the house and all. I didn't get any chance to sit and create the past few weeks and I believe God is telling me something..and that is to slow down and spend more time with Him reading and knowing His words. During the times that I've been busy creating cards, I sometimes neglect my bible reading (in all honesty), but then things have changed and I know God is touching me and telling me to just be "still" and know that He is God. And He has to be first before anything else. :) So now, I'm back into my daily Bible reading and hopefully will be back on my regular posting and cardmaking as well.

This card isn't actually new. I mean, I've made this during my InStyle Stamps Guest Designer stint but just wasn't able to post it. I made this card to show the Reverse Masking technique. If you're already doing masking, then reverse masking is as easy as that.

Here's my card:

In this card, I cut out a circle then used the frame (from where I cut the circle) and sponged within the cut area (which in this case is, the circle LOL!) I just used a very subtle ink as backgrounds are meant to be soft and subtle. Here I used a Versacolor Baby Blue ink.

After I'm done with my sponging, I then stamped Ginger {InStyle Stamps} and the Butterfly from Studio G then coloured it with my Prisma pencils. Finished it off by putting tab ribbons and Kaiser Pearls in Chocolate.
Now it's your turn to try this technique out. I just hope that I was able to guide you with the how-to of the reverse masking even with just a very short instructions. :)
Thanks for looking and have a blessed day!
